1.0 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

1.1 INTRODUCTION

Administration exists in any organization set for a defined purpose. Every organization in modern society consists of many different groups of people moving together in a complicated process to achieve the objective of the organization.

The administrations position within an establishment or organization is therefore very important. The survival of any organization will depend on the development of its policies into action to achieve the organization objectives.

This study is very important to the progress and development of the Nigeria public administers to make them more vibrant and efficient.

The public administrators must be well prepared in order to compete with employees in private establishment in terms of output and efficiencies.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Nigeria like other developing countries the demand modernization and national development provided an additional impetus for a decisive shift in the philosophy

Administration which pre-supposes professionalism with managerial orientation in out look. Inspirited of this philosophy however, public sector management in Nigeria still suffers with the following problems.

i. Poor infrastructural facilities.

ii. Bribery and corruption which has eaten deep into out national psyche.

iii. Look of adequate training

iv. Lack of clear objectives.

v. Lack of technological base and communication equipment.

vi. Wrong posting and poor supervision

vii. Lack of adequate motivation of the personnel

1.3 OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The objectives of this research work are as follows:-

A. To determine the effectiveness of public administrators.

B. To determine the role of ministry in the day to day running of government parastatals.

C. To study the problem confronting public administrators towards effective administration in Nigeria.

1.4 IMPORTANT OF THE STUDY

This study will look on the structure of public and ministration how it goes in Nigeria. This work will recommend where necessary suggestions to improve the efficiency of the public administration in the public service in general and particularly federal airport authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

1.5 SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The study intends to cover the challenges of public administration.

The limitation of this study could be:-

Data constraint and time constrain. This is because a project of this magnitude will usually require the devotion of substantial tune.

1.6 ORGANIZATION OF THE STUDY

This project is divided into five chapters as indicated below:-

Chapter one covers the introduction of the study. Statement of the problem objective of the study. Significance of the study, scope aid limitation of the study and organization of the study.

Chapter two contains the current trends in thinking and theoretical frame work.

Chapter three emphases the methodology which the researcher used.

Chapter four deals with data presentation and analysis, which includes history of the case study presentation of data and analysis of data 

And chapter five contains recommendations and conclusion.
