POPULATION GROWTH AND UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE SOCIETY
ABSTRACT
This research is to investigate the various areas in the environment and economy which rapid increase in world population affect or influence. Since the 18th century, world population has been increasing exponentially and this will definitely have an effect on the environs which the population will occupy and also the economy of the countries which are experiencing this increase. The research is going to expose the leader to the relationship between the population and various elements of the environment and economy and see if it influences then positively or negatively and if the relationship is in negativity initiate the control of population over that factor this research has made many contributions and suggestion of how to manage population and prevent their destruction of the environment.

CHAPTER ONE
1.1 INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Human populations have been forced to adapt to biological, economic, political, and social restriction since the dawn of civilization and have transformed ecosystem to ensure and enhance their survival. Population rose from around 1.6 billion in 1900 to over 6 billion in 2000. Studying the relationship among population, resources and the environment has been challenge taken on by various disciplines due to its complexity, but also because of the controversy and implications of this topic. Although population growth has been the most obvious demographic trend in this relationship. Urbanization, age and household structure, poverty and migration to understanding these interaction.
Nigeria has been experiencing population explosion for the past 50 year due to high fertility rates, quadrupling its population overtime. On the day of the Nigeria population commission (NPC) announced that our population was now a staggering 167, 912, 561 and is projected to hit 221, 163 by July 1, 2020, hardly anyone paid attention. The major problem Nigeria has now, is whether it will be able to create enough to soak up the ever growing labour.
Given the predominance of quantitative approaches and the fact that they allow for descriptions; explanations and future projective to reaching sustainable development. Most studies have focused on developing countries mainly due to relatively higher population growth rates and the diversity of ecosystem found there, as well as the fact that the relationship between the two dimensions is clearer than the developed countries.
1.2 STATEMENT OF PROBLEM
The problem of the current world population is that the resources available cannot adequately support all the people on the earth. Many nations of the world are poverty stricken and this is only getting worse by the increasing population. Across Africa and parts of Asia, starvation and homelessness is on the increase. The available natural and human resources can not reach everyone and it will lead to the reduction of the available food. As population increases, room for new structures. This is why I have decided to study the relationship between population increase and the aspects of the environment which it influences. These problems when stated would lead to better approach to the solution for the improvement of conditions and the control of population growth and unemployment.
1.3 PURPOSE OF STUDY
This research paper is aimed at examining population and employment trends, population and environmental management interrelated and other paltors influence by the increase in population.
At the end of this paper, we will see how many people this our planet can support and understand why population growth must be controlled in Nigeria.
1.4 RESEARCH QUESTIONS
To obtain accurate and concise fact on this research question there considered pertinent for the success of study.
1. How does population growth affect the environment and the economy?
2. What are the factors that results to population growth?
3. Does population growth affect employment opportunities?
1.5 SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY
The significance of this study cannot be overemphasized the result of the study would add to the advancement of knowledge of population and unemployment the environment.
Specifically, it would be of immense benefit to other researchers on population growth. The study will also help the government to curb high rate of population and allocate the available resources to this population.
1.6 SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
Carrying out a project of this nature is however faced with some obstacles. In achieving this study these was on the part of the researcher’s absolute dedication, enthusiasm, keenness and resourceful. It is however, noted that circumstances or Centrum factors outside the control of researchers militation against this study such unforeseen and controllable factors include finance, time and data collection.
