ABSTRACT

Panel door is one of the important construction found or used in a building. It can be found in most building for protection of valuables and to regulate movement in the building. Wooden panel is said to be the best pattern of door because it is easy and low cost of constructing. The project was constructed using a very hard and some other important machines and hand tools and accurate measurement was made to ensure a good and a proper finishing of a panel door.

CHAPTER ONE

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The purpose of panel door is to prevent regular and free movement or trespasses to and for an building.

The panel door construction can be achieved by coupling/assembling pieces of plane wood, button, and nails. Therefore, a panel door is such that all homes, offices, schools and public places cannot do without it.

Wooden panel door has several methods of construction, it can be inform of plain door or with lining or ordinary frame panel door. However, this project is dealing with the following tools and equipments in order to achieve a better result. These tools and equipment includes, saw, a clamp, vice, sand paper, tape, T-square, screwdriver, pinches, hammer, nails, maker (Pencil), polish etc these tools forms the primary instrument for constructing panel door.

The various way of constructing wooden panel door would be discussed vividly in the subsequent topics. Also inclusive are the ways of maintaining panel doors as well as safety measures taking at the workshop while producing the door would be also be disclosed in the subsequent topics.

The opportunity of this project is based on the various involves in the making of panel door. These factors include the real force that will be applied at the door also covers the maintenance of the panel door and also precaution taken during production so as to ensure that the door is in perfect condition all day long.

1.2 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The aims and objects of this project is to establish the working principles involved in construction of panel door so as to make the production more interesting and very lucrative attractive to manufacture and the user’s at large and also to show in details the step by step of how to construct panel door and the equipment.

1.3 LIMITATIONS OF STUDY

In the course of carrying out this product, some difficulties were encounter and these are.

Time Factor: The difficulties encountered in trying to balance my course work and project writing/production was not easy, because of these little time was involved in the production of the panel door which made it extremely difficult to achieve and also due to some activities been done in the school it also find difficult to gather to gather.

Desired taste: The specified with the strength also the particular hardwood (Mahogany) for the project work was tough in implementing which makes this work so unique and better than the other ones and also due to choice of it, is also a little bit difficult to conclude on the pattern of work to do.

Finance: Due to the present cost of materials and the economy of the country, I find it very difficult to assist my self in executing this work.
